E-Commerce on campus
Each UCN user is allocated an e-Wallet. The e-Wallet is an e-commerce
transaction agent on campus. Specifically, each student can use the money
they deposit in the e-Wallet to shop online and have the merchandise delivered
to them on-campus. The merchandise may range from food and sundry
items, to computers, MP3 players..etc.

This will help each student to cut down significantly on their personal mobile phone bills as they no longer need the mobile
phone on campus. All phone calls are delivered to the end user utilizing user tracking technology developed in-house at Extreme Broadband.
Phone calls made to users off-campus are chargeable based on usage; However Extreme Broadband is able to provide very competitive call rates
(up to 80% off toll rate).
Antivirus, spyware and spam management
All traffic traversing UCN is subjected to virus scanning, spyware and spam-filtering treatment.
Users can therefore surf the internet with total peace of mind.

Unified Messaging Service
The UCN solution also offers all its users a unique method to stay in touch - Unified Messaging (UM).
UM is the concept of bringing together all messaging media (such as voice messaging and email) into a
combined communications experience. When the user is disconnected from his/her wire-line connection,
the UCN location server will track the user and deliver the message as long as the user stays within the network,
or divert the voice message to the user's unified mailbox.
Integrated Network security
Extreme Broadband understands the importance of network security in this day and age.
Hence UCN is designed with strong security in mind. The UCN is an identity-based network;
all users have to login using their assigned username and password prior to using any network resources.
All gateways into the network are secured by industry-strength firewalls. The firewall will keep logs of all
network activities and will be able to automatically alert the administrator in case of any network anomaly.
